Many children have general anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist, so our pediatric dentist in Staten Island is trained and ready to alleviate those fears with a little help from dental sedation. Nitrous oxide is our preferred method of sedation and is a safe, inhaled sedative used to calm your child and create a pain-free environment. It does not put your child to sleep.
We sometimes recommend dental sedation for very young children with extensive treatment needs who are unable to cooperate safely in the dental chair. Children with special needs or unique medical or developmental conditions are also good candidates for dental sedation done by our pediatric dentist in Staten Island
