Pulp Therapy
Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.
Pulp therapy is a procedure that promotes healthy tooth development. It can be done by our pediatric dentist in Staten Island on your child’s baby or permanent teeth depending on how early the need arises. Inside of each tooth there is an area where pulp resides that consists of varied soft tissue.
When the pulp, or the hidden soft tissue of your child’s tooth is damaged through trauma or a cavity or other means then dental intervention is often required.
If your child is experiencing oral symptoms like:
Severe toothache
Sensitivity to hot or cold
Swelling or tenderness near a tooth
They may require pulp therapy from our pediatric dentist in Staten Island in either the form of a pulpotomy (partial removal of tissue) or a pulpectomy (full removal of tissue) depending on the severity of the case.
